A Night at the Nags!
Salisbury Race Course, July
Not one to bet and gamble my hard-earned money away, but as it was my first time at Salisbury races, well any horse race for that matter, there was no harm in putting on a little bet.
Deciding which horse to pick came purely down to which jockey’s shirt I liked the best and although some scoffed at my nieve minded decision it very quickly paid off. A little £2 bet increased to £10 and then increased to £14 after picking another winner.
It really isn’t about winning the money, that’s just a bonus. There is a great atmosphere at the track, everyone cheering their horse as they speed past us at over 25 miles an hour. Salisbury races have a ladies day and a whole host of evening music entertainment. It is a great evening and one I would recommend to anyone who wanted a fun, different night out.

A Week of Successful Events
June 2010
This month has been a very busy time for Fresh Approach PR with several events and projects taking place.
Saturday 19th saw the biggest project and personal favourite event, Poole Afloat take place on Poole Quay. Over 20 exhibitors and 10 boats were visited by thousands on the beautiful, sunny day to experience life in the boating and watersports industries. Over 500 people were given the opportunity to get On the Water with sailing, rib and cruiser rides, Paddleboarding, Sunseeker tour and a visit with the Royal Marines on the ORC Gunboat (pictured). "I thought it was a super event so thankyou to you and your colleagues in bringing it all together" Graham Richardson, Poole Tourism Manager
Tuesday 22nd was the Golfing 4 All Open Evening at Canford Magna Golf Club. The event was very well received by the local community with over 35 people attending. Anthony Netto, wheelchair golfer and the Paragolfer inventor was there to greet and talk to everyone about the benefits and possibilities availbale to all by using the chair. Several local people were given the opportunity to try the chair and to work with Anthony who was giving and tips and advice. For photos and full news from the opene evening go to www.golfing4all.org.uk "I thought the open evening was a great event and it was good to see other people enjoying the Paragolfer. It confirms what we have all believed all along, it really does have a lot of potential for a large number of people." Ian Purchase, Chairman of Golfing 4 All
Thursday 24th came and went in a blur of activity. The BMF Wessex Summer Meeting and Dinner took place at Mezza Luna restaurant in Poole Park. The evening planned was a networking event for BMF Wessex members and some key local businesses, media and council/tourism representatives. Networking is a great opportunity to grow your business and to bring awareness and education to the local community of new and exciting events. This such networking event also included the introduction of David Ritchie from Nautikidz who is importing the fantastic Mini Port boats into the UK with the help of Rockley in Poole Park. "A very smoothly run event, with great participation. Thank you." David Ritchie, MD Nautikidz
Fresh Approach PR has received excellent feedback and particularly from this weeks events. If you would like to talk about events in your area or would like help in managing an event please get in touch via the contacts page.

Team Tri Triumph
Monday 14th June, QE Leisure Centre, Wimborne
Yesterday saw the inaugural Fresh Approach Team Tri charity event take place at QE Leisure Centre in Wimborne.
32 participants, 6 teams, 3 disciplines and a whole lot of competitive spirit kicked off the event at 4pm on Sunday.
Each team had up to 6 members and they competed over two hours, working together, swimming, running and cycling. The laps, lengths and miles were all totalled up giving each team and overal score for the furthest distance travelled.
The focus was on fun, team work and raising money, but a very healthy amount of competitive spirit drove the teams on cheering not only for each other but for all the teams taking part. It was a close finish with Team Brain Injury support, having completed the most amount of lengths in the pool coming in second overall to the winning group Team HSBC. With only 3 members in their team and recruiting a little bit of help, team HSBC covered the greatest distance over the 3 disciplines to beat the other 5 teams. "It was a really great event, and such a good team work experience. It would be great to do it again next year" commented Lucy York team leader of the winning HSBC team.
"What an absolutely fantastic event. Everyone really enjoyed it, far more than they expected, and there was plenty of friendly banter between teams with a really good atmosphere. A great event and very well organised." Ian Purchase and family competed in a team along with son Matthew who the funds raised are going to help keep and maintain his ParaGolfer chair.
A huge thank you has to firstly go to QE leisure centre for their support and allowing Fresh Approach to run and hold the event at the centre. Thank you to everyone who spent the time to help marshal the stations and help keep the teams in line! And an enormous thank you to everyone taking part and donating money. If you would like to donate towards the ParaGolfer chair you can do by contacting Fresh Approach via the contact page or email emma@freshapproachpr.co.uk

Golfing4All Hits the Press
11th June,
A beautiful, sunny June evening was spent at Canford Magna Golf Club driving range.
The newly founded organisation Golfing 4 All were there with Matthew Purchase and the ParaGolfer chair to hit a few balls and meet up with the Bournemouth Echo.
Hariet Marsh, Echo journalist joined everyone at the driving range to chat with Matthew about his recovery, his passion for golf and his ongoing wish that the ParaGolfer chair that has been obtained for him be available for all.
Golfing4All has been put in place to promote the ParaGolfer chair and make it possible for many people who are less independent to have the opportunity to learn, play and enjoy golf.
Golfing4All's open day is on Tuesday June 22nd at Canford Magna Golf Club driving range from 6pm. Everyone is welcome, you will find out all about Golfing4All, the ParaGolfer and how many are going to benefit from this great, new, local project.

The Beauty of Networking
Thursday 22nd April, Storm Fish Restaurant
Networking has to be the most fun to have with your business!
Meeting new, fun business women, getting to eat great food and talk shop with the bonus of making contacts and generating some new business, what a bonus!
I was recommended to go to the Poole Business Women's Lunch Club at Storm Fish Restaurant by my sister Lucy (pic far left) HSBC International Commercial Associate and serial networker. I was not disapointed, as it was PBWL club's 10th anniversary it was a full-house and guest speaker Mark Constantine from Lush gave an eye-opening talk on business ethics.
It was a great event and I will definitely be going to the next one. Networking with other, local business women is one of the best ways to spread the word about Fresh Approach PR. I would highly recommend it!

Hundred's Have Fun on the Water
Monday 29th March
This year's Poole Park Open Day hosted by Rockley was a huge success with over 300 children getting out on the boating lake for free.
From the start of the opening at 10am, the day progressed well with every session available in dinghy sailing, kayaking, row boats and swans being fully booked.
Some families had come for a whole day of fun, like Justin and Katie Lewars from Poole. They took part in every session out on the water and while posing for pictures with the Echo said "we loved the sailing the most".
With more people coming to the park and getting more kids out on the water than the previous year and with plenty of new activities on the calendar for children and adults alike Rockley are due for a good season.
Thank you to the RNLI, RTCW, Climb Vertigo and Lilliput Sea Scouts for making it a fun event for all.
For full information on all sessions, courses and activities with Rockley please go to www.rockleywatersports.com
